I
have been drawing all my life, but only started drawing
in earnest 20 years ago, when I started a family.
Although
I used to 'do' paintings with oil and watercolour, I have always
been attracted to drawing and sketching.
I
particularly enjoy using ink, as it opens up a world of detail
- an excellent medium for houses and gardens.
I
like to think the eye can wander all over my sketches and pick
out interesting bits of details in all the corners.
A
little colour is added to make a statement, accentuate something
and to enhance the detail - I feel that too much colour detracts
from the sketch.
I
work from home, in Palmerston North, the Manawatu region of New
Zealand, where I live with my husband and three children.
