About Anne Bretherton

I have been drawing all my life, but started drawing in earnest in the early 1990s, when I started a family.

Although I used to create paintings with oil and watercolour, I have always been attracted to drawing and sketching. I particularly enjoy using ink, as it opens up a world of detail - an excellent medium for houses and gardens, as well as pets.

Using fine ink pens I draw the subject in all of its detail - a client's favourite view, where they like to sit, their gumboots at the back door. I can trim your trees and mow your lawns!

I like to think the eye can wander all over my sketches and pick out interesting bits of details in all the corners. A little colour is added to accentuate something, enhance the detail and highlight the whole sketch.

I work from my home in Palmerston North, the Manawatu region of New Zealand.
